PRESTOUNGRANGE ARTS CLUB

Started in 2003 from a grant from Scottish Communities fund. It has grown to a membership of 70 people, of which 30 regulars come to The Cockenzie Business Centre on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays evenings (6.30 -8.30pm), Tuesday morning 11am - 2pm. The classes are run by Andrew Crummy, Tom Ewing, Adele Conn and Adele Robertson and subsided by The Prestoungrange Arts festival. The classes are drop in and £3.50 per session. Our membership to exhibit is £25. Our youngest member is 7 years old (all children must come with a parent or Guardian), our oldest in her seventies. We have an monthly ARTS CLUB (first Tuesday of every month), where we have a speaker that have included Richard Demarco, George Birrell and Alison De Mario of Salem Museum.

Several of the artists have won awards. The group has exhibited on a regular basis at the The Goth, Prestonpans and most recent being The Edinburgh Art Fair (photographed above). Most artists sell work, the price ranging from £60 - £700.

We hosted the summer school of The Global Murals conference in August 2006 where we had masters classes from Sandy Moffat, John Pugh (USA), Art Mortimer (USA), Wei Lua (USA) and Michelle Loughery (Canada).

We have exhibited at The Edinburgh Art Fair and Gladstone Land, The Royal Mile Edinburgh.

We recently brought a book entitled "100 Paintings" The First five years of The Art Club.
